Tasteful Daily is an independent publication. This page describes what the site collects and what happens to it. Effective 18 September 2026.

What we collect

Your email address, if you subscribe. When you enter it in the newsletter form we store it so we can send you the newsletter, and for nothing else. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Server logs

Our web server records what every web server records when it serves a page: your IP address, your browser's user agent, the page requested and the time. We keep these briefly for security and troubleshooting, and they are not used to build a profile of you.

Outbound clicks

Buy links point at our own address first, in the form tastefuldaily.com/go/<entry>, which records the entry and the merchant before sending you on. We do this to count which entries get read and which links get used, and it sets no cookie. Because it is a first-party request rather than a third-party script, it also keeps working for readers whose browser blocks advertising and affiliate scripts. The record is a line in a file on our own server, kept alongside the server logs.

One cookie of our own, and two choices you control. If you dismiss the newsletter prompt, the site stores a single first-party cookie called newsletter_optin so it does not ask again for 30 days, and we store your answer to the cookie banner so it does not ask again either. We set no other cookies ourselves, and ours are not for advertising or for following you across sites. The affiliate scripts described below use cookies of their own, and whether they load depends on where you are: readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked first and the scripts load only if they accept, while readers elsewhere load them immediately. You can change your answer at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and cannot identify you, and Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_2FHRC4M26T and reports which entries are read, how readers arrive and roughly which country they are in. Google holds this data on our behalf. Google's advertising features and Signals are switched off for this property, so that data is not used to build advertising audiences, and we do not connect it to anything that identifies you. As with the affiliate scripts, whether Google Analytics loads depends on where you are: readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked first, and it loads only if they accept.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages get read. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other sites. Cloudflare's free tier does not count visitors routed through European data centres, so if you are reading from the EU you are not in these numbers.

Third parties

Pages on this site load fonts from Google Fonts, an affiliate-link script from Sovrn Commerce served from cdn.viglink.com, and a tracking script from impact.com served from utt.impactcdn.com. Those requests go from your browser directly to those providers, so all three see your IP address. Entry images are served from this site, not from the publications they came from. Nothing else about you is shared with them.

When you follow a buy or learn more link, you leave this site and the destination applies its own privacy policy. Some of those links are affiliate links, meaning the retailer may pay us a commission if you buy. Our affiliate networks, Sovrn Commerce and impact.com, set their own cookies and identifiers so that a purchase can be credited to us. Sovrn's act when you click a buy link; impact.com's tracking script runs when a page loads. Those cookies belong to the networks rather than to us, and they are used for commission attribution. Each network's own privacy policy governs them.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your information, we do not run advertising, and we do not follow you across other sites.

Your choices

Email [email protected] and ask us to remove your address from the newsletter list. We will, and you do not need to give a reason. You can also unsubscribe from the link in any newsletter we send.

How long we keep it

Your email address stays on the newsletter list until you ask us to remove it, and then it is gone. Server logs are kept briefly for security and troubleshooting and then discarded. The list lives in one file on our own server; it is not sold, rented, or copied anywhere else.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us an address, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the effective date above changes with it.
